Sherman Hay Art Scholarship

This scholarship is to honor the memory and creative spirit of artist and teacher Sherman Hay, who spent his life creating a wide range of art and fostering creative expression in others. An accomplished professional artist and art instructor for California community colleges and incarcerated youth and adults, Sherman Hay inspired his family, friends, colleagues and students with his artistic vision, joy in his craft, and strong work ethic. The Sherman Hay Art Scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue professional art training.
CRITERIA: Enrolled in at least three units in the Fall and Spring semester, 2.0 GPA, majoring in art or indicate art as a field of interest, plan to continue at Columbia College or transfer to a four-year university. Financial need considered. Work samples and artist statement required. Interview possible. Veterans encouraged to apply.
